The juice of organic vegetables will not only speed up the process of detoxification, it will flood your body with enzymes, vitamins and minerals for quick absorption....and greatly benefit the immune system.

The juice of organic vegetables is rich in nutrients. As the cells of your body are bathed in these fresh, alkaline vegetable juices, they begin to release acids, which are toxins that can then be removed through the elimination channels of the body i.e. the lungs, kidneys, skin etc.

Juicing provides a rich source of live enzymes essential to the digestive process. Enzymes are proteins that break down foods into nutrients your body can readily digest. When you eat, digestive enzymes are released from your saliva glands sending signals to the stomach and small intestine in preparation for digestion.

Adults have usually used up all of their digestive enzymes by the time they are 30 and often earlier due to the SADD diet "Standard American Daily Diet". Often people will take digestive enzymes when they eat for this very reason….to aid in digesting.

It is vital to detoxify the body when treating deficiencies. If the body is toxic and nutrients are taken in whether from foods or supplements, the nutrients will not be able to be absorbed very well. For example, if a sponge is full of dirty water (as the cells are full of toxins), adding additional water to the sponge will have little impact, even if the water is clean.

Important Notes About Our Experience With Juicing

When we started juicing, we kept it as simple as possible. We bought a Champion juicer, which fit our budget at the time. I would not use a lower quality juicer than this, and suggest the highest quality one you can afford.

You will want a masticating juicer that also presses with a slow RPM. Centrifugal juicers tend to destroy enzymes and too much of the juice is left in the pulp…which means less vitamins and minerals in your body. A good juicer will last many years.

Drink the juice within 30 minutes or less. Juice will start to oxidize after that, losing valuable enzymes and vitamins. Bottled juices are not a good substitute for fresh juices. Enzymes are destroyed in the bottling process.

Just before drinking the freshly made juice, put a little Himalyan Crystal salt on your tongue (contains 84 minerals), available at this link or possibly your health food store. Himalayan Crystal Salt is high in trace minerals, and will signal the body to absorb more of the nutrients as you drink the juice.

We always include 1 tablespoon of Nutrex spirulina in our juice for high protein. Thie spirulina has 3 times the protein found in meat, and is very, very nutritious. If you do not like the taste of spirulina you can substitue the Nutrex tablets (17 tablets = one tablespoon powder).

** An important note ** We use Nutrex Organic Spirulina, which is 60% protein and a high source of anti- oxidants and additional vitamins and minerals. All spirulinas are not high quality. Nutrex uses ultra- pure ocean water pumped up from an ocean depth in Hawaii of 2000 feet; they also take great care in preventing oxidation of the spirulina in their drying process. You can find Nutrex spirulina at your local health food store or on our Shopping Cart.>> We sometimes substitute tablets for powder….and the tablets can be taken at ay time during the day. Tablets - 17 tablets = 1 tablespoon of powder.

Once our vegetable juice is made, this is a good time to add 1 tablespoon of UDO's 3.6.9 Blend. This oil will provde excellent essential fatty acids in appreciable amounts, available at the health food stores in the refrigerated section. No more than one tablespoon oil per day.

What We Put In Our Juices

We tend to juice what is in season at the time. The following is a list of the most common organic produce we put in our juices; generally whatever looks vibrant and fresh, green and in season….which means not everything you read below is in every drink. Just do the best you can with the produce available. Be aware of what you may be allergic to. I personally cannot tolerate cucumbers, so I leave them out.

1 head lettuce (not iceberg)
1 head dark green kale (remove stems)
1 carrot
½ beet OR 1 carrot - no more than this - high in sugar
Beet greens (top of the beets if they are fresh)
cilantro
parsley
Celery sticks (chopped up first)
Collard greens
Endive
Spinach
Dandelion greens
Cabbage - drink immediately if adding cabbage

Once the juice is made, we transfer it to the blender, and add 1 tablespoon of our Nutrex spirulina and 1 Tbspn of UDO's Choice oil. You may want to start with 2 teaspoons of the Nutrex Spirulina, as your body adjusts to this high density food.

Remember to put the Himalayan Crystal Salt on your tongue for the benefit of stimulating the body to absorb more nutrients and for the additional minerals.

When I was detoxifying my body, I ate a green diet and made 2 juices a day for about 1.5 years. I had chronic fatigue and many other health challenges when I started…including pre cancer of the liver. Once I regained my health, I began to taper down to one juice a day, and now since I am working again and travel regularly, I juice approximately 2 or 3 times a week. The Nutrex Spirulina tablets are fairly easy to travel with. I also include the Red Desert® Clay every day for the highly absorbably minerals, building bone density and for the toxins it removes, which we take in from daily living.

Start slowly. I personally drank 2 juices a day as part of my healing program, however there are some people who work up to 4 juices a day and eat very little solid food. Listen to your body, and work with your healthcare professional.

The benefits of juicing are enormous. Green juices help to eliminate wastes and toxins and irrigate the body, build the blood and carry oxygen and nutrients directly to the tissues.
